The skin care industry is massive. The amount of products, treatments, remedies that consumers have access too is mind boggling. For most types of skin care treatments, there are established industry giants, and consumers can call and speak to anyone about the treatments any time. For some reason, however, the anti-aging niche is flooded with products and brands that you cannot even find a phone number for. Or if you do call you get an automated answering service, that only takes your order and credit card information. Why would these companies not offering a customer service department, or the ability to order over the phone? Consumers find this ‘email only’ form of communication suspect and they have every reason to believe so.
The anti-aging segment of the skin care industry has tremendous amount of commerce on the internet. Many of the leading wrinkle creams and anti-aging treatments sold each day are done via the internet. For many consumers in the age bracket to use wrinkle creams, the internet is still unfamiliar and they are less likely to trust in company websites, and secure shopping carts. These consumers would like to be able to walk into the local store and find the best wrinkle creams. When they find out that many of the leading wrinkle cream companies do not offer their products in brick and mortar storefronts, these consumers are left with the internet purchase as the only option.
Even for those of us who are internet savy, we often times have questions regarding which treatment works the best for us, or we would like to find out where our order is. Even just to speak to someone to feel better about spending this kind of money on products is a completely normal emotion for consumers to feel. Why then are there so few companies out there that actually have toll free numbers that real, live people answer?
That is the question that many experts pose to consumers to consider before making a wrinkle cream purchase. The internet skin care company business model is one, that would not require a huge corporate headquarters, but staffing a handful of representatives to service the clients should be a necessary requirement. Lack of a toll free number, or any problems at all reaching the company during business hours should raise a red flag for consumers. You are expected to read the testimonials, spend hundreds of dollars, but you cannot speak to one person about which product, combination works best for your particular skin care needs? It seems absurd.
As consumers, we may not need to speak to someone on this or any order. But what if you did? What if you absolutely had to speak with them, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to do so without having to wait for a 48 hour email response. Whether or not you need to speak with someone, would prefer to speak with someone, or never ever speak to someone, it still begs the question as to why a company that has such wonderful products doesn’t have a single person working for them that can answer the phones. It makes you wonder if there is a company at all, or if it is just an internet marketer that pays a fulfillment center to ship out their products. If it’s a one or two man operation, do you really believe that this is the type of company that you want to risk hundreds of dollars on a wrinkle cream from?
Finding the best wrinkle cream or anti-aging treatment for you, can be difficult and even downright frustrating. But remember, reputable companies that are willing to talk to you each time you call are holding themselves accountable, whereas the others just have to ignore another email.
