Hydrolyze Reviews | Behind the Reviews - Hydrolyze

The internet and e commerce in general have changed the landscape of the skin care industry, specifically the anti-aging segment.  The industry has never been hotter, but traditional skin care companies have taken a back seat to companies like Hydrolyze and others with a huge online presence.  These brands are not even known to the average household, yet the dominate search engine searches and make millions of sales.  One of the largest reasons for this is a company’s ability to rate well in reviews of their brand name or product line.  Reading reviews of Hydrolyze, for example, is an extremely common thing for a consumer to do, provided they are interested in purchasing Hydrolyze.  A positive review online combined with a television marketing campaign has proven to turn these unheard of companies into industry leaders.

Hydrolyze is certainly not the only company that employs this approach to marketing, but they seem to be one of the more effective companies at doing so.  And it should be noted that this article is not a review of Hydrolyze under-eye treatment, rather an observation of their marketing practices.  By looking closer at many of these companies that appeared overnight as the anti-aging ‘boom’ began a few years back we, as consumers, are able to draw some enlightening conclusions that can benefit all of us in the purchase process.

Essentially what happens is that a company, such as Hydrolyze, runs a television commercial and extends a ‘free trial’ offer.  People are obviously interested and they turn to the internet to get some information about Hydrolyze, a brand that many are not overly familiar with.  These consumers then run into literally thousands of reviews and eye cream review websites like this one that offer reviews of skin care products, and of course specifically Hydrolyze.  When consumers confront positive reviews and testimonials, it is logical that they purchase the eye cream.

As simple and logical as it may seem, Hydrolyze does this better than many of the companies out there, perhaps because of their willingness to spend large marketing dollars on these free trial TV campaigns.  My hat is off to them, they have found a strategy that works for them and they use it to the best of their ability.  Having done so, they have transitioned into one of the larger presences in the anti-aging, or at least eye cream marketplace.

So what does this tell us as consumers as to the quality of Hydrolyze?  Well in short…nothing.  This approach speaks neither of the quality or the effectiveness of the product.  But it does uncover an interesting fact that consumers should be aware of.

When seeking out reviews of eye creams like Hydrolyze, you literally have thousands of choices of which reviews to read and which to skip.  When you see the website domain name, take time to notice it.  Does it use the brand name that you are looking for?  (ex.  Hydrolyze-reviews.com) When a website uses a product name in their domain, it is for the obvious reason of attracting the attention of consumers looking for that brand name.  If they are trying to attract consumers of that brand, there is probably a reason.  The question you need to ask yourself is why.

The purpose for reading a review site is to get an unbiased opinion; a trusted, independent testimonial.  When you start reading, or more specifically trusting, the information found on websites that are looking to target one brand more than any other brand out there is when the problem arises.   No honest, third party reviewer is going to dedicate their entire website to just one product.  More than likely the reviews you encounter are either owned by the brand (Hydrolyze in our example) or they are owned by an internet marketer who gets paid to offer a positive review there.   As consumers, we should look to find reviews that are not so blatantly associated with the company we are trying to ‘uncover’ information on.

While taking this step changes nothing about whether or not Hydrolyze is effective, it does allow you to read and trust the information that you are finding as a consumer resource, not a sales pitch.
